Joined academics from a wide range of sectors for the Imperial Sustainable Agriculture Symposium. At the heart of the matter is the big issue of how we ensure our agricultural system provides food security in a sustainable way and what tools, systems and policies all backed up by appropriate research and science are needed to get us to where we need to be in the future?
Key areas are bio-engineering and AI, integrating agriculture better into the health of the nation, pesticides on a global scale, risk assessment and insurance to help farmers transition to new systems and how to develop and early warning system for food security linked to climate risk.
